A six-year-old shouldn’t pay like an adult.

GoTripping is one shared page for a group trip — the plan, the tickets, and who owes what. Every person carries a weight, every household settles as one, and everybody is looking at the same numbers.

Ideas are free. Small trips are free too. One person buys a Pass when needed.

Eight people. Three households. Six and three-quarter shares. The circles are drawn to what each person counts as.

Where it stands

where a head-count would put the line

Every group trip runs on three questions nobody can answer.

They get asked in a group chat, over and over, to the one person who happens to know. GoTripping puts the answers where everyone can reach them, so the organizer stops being a helpdesk.

“What are we doing tomorrow?”

asked at 11pm, every night

A day-by-day plan everyone can open, with who is coming to what. Activities, reminders, packing lists, notes, map pins, and the phone number of the driver.

“Can you send the booking again?”

asked at the counter, with no signal

Tickets, bookings and IDs live in folders instead of a chat thread. Yours are private by default, and anything you have opened works offline.

“So what do I actually owe?”

asked on the way home, by everyone

A running balance from day one, weighted by who actually eats, sleeps and travels. No reconstruction, no spreadsheet, no argument at the airport.

Your people

Set up your people once, not every trip.

Save each person with what they count as on a split. Every trip after this one builds itself from that list — the same households, the same weights, nothing typed twice.

Adult 1 Child 0.5 Elder 0.75 Something else — set your own

Amounts are worked out from the weights. Change a weight and every share moves with it, on this trip or every open one — your call, and you see the effect before it saves.

Households settle as one

Six adults from three homes means three transfers at the end, not fifteen. Inside a household nobody owes anybody, which is how it already works in real life.

Paying without going

A parent funding a trip they are not on. A sibling covering their mother’s share. A party can have someone paying for it who never gets on the plane.

Six ways to split one bill

Household shares by default. Or evenly, by shares, by percentage, exact amounts, or by who actually turned up to that one activity.

Open the app. Everybody sees exactly this.

Four tabs, and the settle-up that closes them. There is no organizer view with a read-only view for everyone else — the person who booked the hotel and the cousin who joined yesterday open the same trip and find the same things in the same places. Tap through it.

Give the trip a face

Every trip gets painted cover art — drawn in the app, so it stays sharp and weighs nothing.

Trips in the making

Before it is a trip, it is an idea.

An idea is a trip before anyone commits — a few places, a rough window, no dates. Put one up and let the group answer. There is no money on an idea, so there is nothing to split and nothing to settle. When the dates lock, it becomes a real trip and brings the winning place and everyone who voted with it.

Most expenses should log themselves.

Typing in every bill is why shared ledgers die on day three. GoTripping reads the bill and asks you to confirm what it found. Nothing is saved until you say so.

Scan the bill

Snap the check and the merchant, total and date come back filled in. Scans taken with no signal queue up and read themselves when you are back online.

Share it from anywhere

Paste payment-message text yourself and GoTripping pulls out the amount and merchant on your device. It does not read your messages or notifications in the background, and never asks for SMS-reading or notification-reading permission.

Bring your Splitwise group over

Export the group as a spreadsheet and import it here. Existing balances come with you, so switching does not mean losing track of what is already owed.

Settling up

The fewest transfers that clear everyone.

Eight travelers and forty expenses do not need forty payments. GoTripping nets it down to the shortest possible list, and everybody is looking at the same list.

Almost square

Settle in your own app

GoTripping shows who owes whom and how much. You make the transfer yourself in your own Venmo, Zelle or Cash App. GoTripping collects no payment handles and creates no payment links.

Recorded

Marked, then confirmed

The payer marks it paid; whoever receives it confirms. A payment nobody confirmed stays on the books as an open debt instead of quietly disappearing.

Partial payments and waived amounts are both first-class, because real groups do both.

All square

One nudge, never an auto-nag

You can remind someone once. GoTripping will not send a second reminder on your behalf. An app that chases your cousin for money is a family problem, not a feature.

Every payment confirmed, and the trip closes. Lovely trip, tidy ledger.

Shared does not mean shared with everybody.

  • Your folder is private by defaultYour household’s passports and tickets sit in your folder. Nobody else on the trip knows what is in it. Vault documents are encrypted on your device before upload; even the operator cannot read them.
  • You choose what to share, and for how longGive one person view access, or view-and-add. Set it to expire when the trip ends, on a date you pick, or never. Take it back whenever you want, and your own people can see every change.
  • Documents open with no signalA boarding pass should not need a network at the gate. Anything you have opened is stored on your device.
  • Pasted payment text stays on your deviceOnly text you paste yourself is parsed to suggest an expense. It is not uploaded or stored, and GoTripping never reads your SMS or notifications.
  • App lock, using what your phone already hasFingerprint, face or PIN, re-locking after a minute or five. Your choice.

Pricing

Free for small trips. One Pass for the group.

Ideas are free, however many people join. Real trips stay free up to 3 travelers, 7 days and the starter storage allowance. Expense logging and the full ledger are free on every trip.

Free trip
Free

Up to 3 travelers · up to 7 days

  • Starter storage allowance
  • Expense logging and the full ledger, on every trip
  • Ideas, places, votes and date polls are free too

Crossing any one limit - people, trip length or storage - means the trip needs a Trip Pass. Logging expenses and seeing the full ledger never needs a Pass.

Trip Pass
$9.99

Per Trip Pass · everyone on that trip

  • Up to 4 weeks of active trip, then 4 weeks to settle up
  • Day-by-day itinerary everyone can see
  • Settle Up flow and private per-family Vault folders
  • 500 MB storage per trip
  • Live updates, chat, offline access and exports

Not a subscription; no automatic renewal. A longer trip needs another Pass for the same trip to stay active. A two-month trip uses two Passes for 4 + 4 weeks of trip, then one 4-week settlement window. Passes do not transfer between trips or accounts.

One person buys a Pass. Everyone travels.

One purchase covers everyone on that trip. Add the Pass to the trip's ledger and split the cost if your group wants to. Nobody is asked for a card to see what they owe.

Four weeks to settle after the trip.

Each Pass covers up to 4 weeks of active trip. Extra Passes extend that same trip, followed by a 4-week settlement window. Expense logging and the full ledger remain free on every trip.
